Clothes Swap!!

We had the clothes swap last night and everything turned out great!!
As you will see we had loads of clothes, in fact we were a little late starting because we had so many to put out.

A BIG thank you to the girlies who helped us! (Jess, Elly and jenny =])
They made these amazing little cakes and biscuits in the shapes of clothes...how cool!

Smiles and laughter...the underlying tension over who was going to get the Sponge Bob tee was unreal! haha

Carrie sizing up one of the tops on offer.

SWAP COMMENCES!!
By this point everyone has an idea of what they wanted and were hovering near their selected items!

As you can see some people did very well!

Over all it was very sucessful and we've learnt a lot...meaning the next swap will be even better!! However, in the meantime I think we need to take a little break from Tramps Garden to concentrate on our Degree Show.
Don't worry we'll still be keeping in touch with our whereabouts, I doubt we'll be able to stay away from Tramps Garden for long.
In June we'll be free from the troubles and stresses of Uni so will be making lots of our lovely bags!

Afflecks palace

Well we had a fun trip to manchester today, it was rather cold and wet but we braved it. We went to visit Afflecks palace to get an idea of how much it will cost us to rent a space in there, it was really busy which is promising. The manager seemed really positive when we told him what we do and the prices seem quite reasonable, we are hoping to get in around August time.

There are some really cool shops and a few vintage/handmade/sustainable ones which we like. I think Tramps Garden would fit in nicely, but lets see what our business advisor thinks shall we.
We have a second meeting with her in june after we have graduated when we can really focus on getting our first bags out there and available to you guys!

Cant wait for the swap on Tuesday, remember its not too late to join in!!

love as always

Gypsies, tramps and thieves...

More posters have been taken!...Wowza, people must REALLY like them.
On that note, we went to get some more posters printed and notice that the poster we had left with them had been graffitied.
It made us chuckle...gypsies, tramps and thieves

Here's a little bit more info on our clothes swap!..

In the uk we throw away a staggering 1 million tonnes of clothing and textiles each year. Over 7.5 billion articles of clothing go into our dustbins each year, with most ending up in landfill. So..

Dont throw it - Swap it!

This is the perfect way to pass on clothes, reinvent your style and most importantly, have fun!

Order of play..

1. Bring us your unwanted clothing/shoes/accsessories to Victoria reception Friday 27th march 12pm-2pm or Tuesday 31st march 12-2pm so we can make them look all lovely on the night and give you your voucher/s.

2. On the night vouchers can be exchanged for the item/s you would like!

3. Arrive at 4.30pm for your free cocktail, chance to view and mingle while trying on the eclectic array of goodies. (remember no clothes may be claimed before the swap starts)

4. At 5.00 'swapping commences' find the items you love and take them home!

See you there!

With Love
Tramps Garden x

P.S Dont forget to invite and bring your friends!
(No boys, sorry!)

I'm so last week...

...Last week was amazing, i managed to blag myself some free shoes, a free ticket to see Little Boots AND tickets to the sold out Kasabian gig at 53! Happy days!

Cute eh.

First things first...free shoes! Carrie and myself went to a business
talk about global branding, hardly what Tramps Garden are aiming to do, but interesting none the less. The talk was about 'redfoot' shoes, those nifty little ones that fold in half!
At the end the speaker announced all the shoes they had on display that night were free for people to take home, that was it Carrie was off, with whippet like speed she made it to the front in time to claim her prize...only to find out they weren't in her size! (good news for me) =]

Little Boots

Little Boots....my flatmate and me got given free tickets to see her at 53% on Thursday.
To be honest i hadn't heard anything about her until then but i've noticed since she's been dubbed 'The Sound of 2009'. I hadn't been out to see live music in too long so was a great night, being a local lass (from Blackpool) loads of her friends and family were there too, which gave it that extra special atmosphere! She plays electronica/pop and has this amazing japanese electronic instrument the Tenori-on...hours of fun!

Welcome to Tramps Garden...

So this is it...isn't it great!
It's full of completely random things...

Don't worry this isn't where we source our materials from!

Just in case you are wondering..
Carrie is wearing: h&m tee & hat

Emma: Topshop cardie
Vero Moda dress

Chimney, Tramps Garden style

Tramps Garden, for us, is a little world to get lost in. We can be little girls again, running around, pointing out all the weird and wonderful things we find. I love taking photo's of all the intriguing patterns and textures which can be found on the crumbling walls...its superlative...you should go sometime!

Picture from my first visit to newcastle.

It really did look pretty, this is the best my little camera could do! Im getting a new camera this week, time for some pro shots while the sun is shining i think! :)
Iv been re organising my 'studio' today (by this i mean my living room), im having to ship my fabric upstairs while my living room is re decorated, we have been living upstairs for nearly a year now, so im very excited! i have saved lots of the old wall paper we took down and am going to frame some of it, found some lovely floral patterns and even some polka dots! :)
Well its getting late now (11.30pm) so am going to have to go, have more sorting to do tomorrow and have a gig to go to this week, its beauty sleep time!
Nighty night xxx
